on August 14 is guitarist Bill Horist. This will be
Bill's first Portland appearance in well over a year

The Nature Consortium presents:
BILL HORIST
Bill plays on a fake glacier on a real Summer day at a
really early hour - 12pm! Part of the Nature
Consortium's annual Arts in Nature Festival. What is
that you may ask?
Arts~in~Nature Festival is a 2-day celebration
exploring environmental lessons through the creative
arts. The 2005 festival is scheduled for August 27th &
28th, 2005 at Camp Long. View this year's schedule as
it is being built... and check back for the final 2005
schedule in August!

* Music ~ jazz, folk, classical, improvisational &
experimental music will be presented in 3 locations:
the outdoor stage, by the pond and on the glacier. See
schedule.
* Dance & Theatre ~ some of Seattle's favorite
performing artists will take to the stage, glacier &
museum of sound in this funky little event. See
schedule.
* Museum of Sound ~ sound artists, instrument makers,
musicians and wandering performers will infiltrate the
camp's cabins and forested outer perimeter. Additional
details on specific artist installations on the fest
schedule.
* Visual Arts ~ Visual artists and fine crafters will
be offering work that is considerate of our resources
and adapts to and/or evokes a reverence for our
surrounding natural environment. We are still
recruiting visual artists to participate in our event.

area for creative, interactive, fun, educational

Getting There: Attendees were encouraged to use less
environmentally harmful transportation choices to
arrive at the event including transit - Metro bus #21,
carpools, vanpools, bicycling and walking. Click here

Directions: take the West Seattle Bridge from I-5 or
99, stay in the left lanes for the Fauntleroy Way SW
exit. At the first stoplight (35th Ave. SW), take a
left. Go 6/10's of a mile up the hill and Camp Long
will be on the left hand side. Very small parking lot,
but unlimited parking along 35th Ave. SW. Additional
parking available in the upper lot of Providence Mount
St. Vincent's on Hudson Street. (One block north of
Camp Long.)
